Garden Design London

Garden design Blackheath.

Are you struggling to make the best use of the outdoor space you have?

Do you love plants but don’t know how best to combine them to create an overall cohesive look?

Catherine Clancy is an award winning highly experienced garden designer, creating inspirational gardens for style-savvy home owners who want to invest in rewarding, life enhancing outdoor spaces, but don’t always have the time to investigate the overwhelming worlds of horticulture, garden design, planting and landscaping.

Although most garden design commissions are close to my Blackheath studio in South East London, I accept commissions from Kent, Suffolk, Sussex, Hampshire, and further afield.

I focus on making the most of the limited space available in London Gardens and use beautiful plant combinations to compliment quality landscaping materials. With the right design, your garden, driveway, courtyard or roof terrace can be beautiful, wildlife friendly and functional.

Working closely with homeowners,  landscape contractors and other specialists, I make sure we deliver gorgeous,  practical gardens, REAL gardens that work for you.  I will also advise on ongoing aftercare to keep them looking great.

Catherine has appeared on BBC2’s “Garden School” filmed at RHS Wisley, and holds a silver gilt RHS medal for her show garden. Also fully accredited by and registered with the Society of Garden Designers (SGD) and British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI).

I am currently working on projects in Greenwich and Blackheath, North London, Kent.  See a collection of my work on the Garden Design London Portfolio Page .

“Catherine has been instrumental in helping us to achieve our dream garden. She was happy to work collaboratively to create the design, and patient in working out all the details along the way. Her expertise and experience was incredible, allowing us to enjoy the whole process while teaching us about plants, design and light in the garden. Her relationship with the recommended landscaper was excellent, allowing this to be a seamless project from start to finish. We had a long list of requirements and a relatively small space, but somehow Catherine managed to fit them all in without feeling compromised on space. We are so happy with the results and wholeheartedly recommend Catherine to anyone that is considering her services!” Craig and Alun, lee

Blackheath Garden

“After a lot of consideration, years of procrastination and ‘making do’ with our sizeable but ultimately difficult to maintain garden, we finally decided to work with Catherine, and are so very glad we did. Catherine spent a good amount of time discussing our needs, identifying and challenging our ideas robustly while suggesting alternatives that proved more imaginative and ultimately suited our needs better. She provided detailed drawings, patiently guiding us through how the process of building would progress and critically, introduced us to a landscaper who could not have been more appropriate (terrace with no rear access – no problem) and trustworthy. Some of the critical stone laying work was performed while we were on holiday which we were fairly nervous about – the landscaper sent us images of progress and called to confirm decisions when needed. Catherine also performed site visits while we were away to verify that design was being followed, including the lighting, watering system and power supply for a future garden office as a future add-on. We needn’t have been concerned. We now have an incredible, easy to maintain, practical yet stunning garden that we enjoy more than we ever did previously, and it is a pleasure to look out on to it every day, even during the winter. There’s still a great sense of satisfaction that we were able to find someone who added so much extra value to our garden vision and has made it a stand out feature of our home. I consider you a key worker from a mental health perspective – we’re delighted with the garden and it has made a big difference to ours!.Thanks Catherine! Stephen and Ruth, Blackheath

Covid-19 impact update

We have all been spending more time in our homes and gardens over the since early 2020 and there has been a big increase in the demand for garden design and landscaping services.  This has lead to increased lead times for products, and a long lead time for design and landscaping services.  If you are thinking about making your garden more attractive or productive next year,  Autumn/Winter it is a perfect time to get in touch and book a consultation for next year.
