Dec 2008, this garden was selected by the SGD (Society of Garden
Designers), as one of the most notable gardens designs from the past year.
99% New Zealand Garden
A modern urban escape was created in a small back garden using
chunky sleeper raised beds (also used as seats), smooth decking and
soft
grey limestone paving. The raised beds were filled with New Zealand
native ferns, shrubs, and vegetables. The garden floor was dug
out to create a sunken secluded paved area. Trellising around the whole garden
provides privacy without blocking the light.
