Catherine grew
up in Ireland, where her lifelong passion for
gardening, design and art took root. Coming from a
long line of scientists, artists and gardeners has
been a major influence on her development.
Catherine studied science at Trinity College Dublin
and worked for years in the computer and media
industries as a manager/project manager before
deciding to take the plunge and move into gardening
full time. Catherine also grows most of her own
fruit and vegetables on an allotment. While deciding
to take the plunge, Catherine studied with the RHS,
City&Guilds and English Gardening school part
time, to get a good grounding in horticulture and
design principles, and also took on a number of
voluntary projects.
Catherine now works for inspired
gardens as garden
designer. She was one of 8 students selected for 5
months training with Diarmuid Gavin, the
RHS Wisley and the BBC, which was televised
on BBC2 Garden School
in 2005. Catherine and the Garden
School team won a Silver Medal at the Tatton
Flower Show in 2005, for their bright pink
"public space" garden, with its colorful
planting scheme.
In January 2006, Catherine was chosen by LANTRA
- Land skills council to promote the horticultural
industry.
Catherine is based in Greenwich, South East London.
Catherine is currently completing the RHS Diploma in
Horticulture. |
