We design gardens and work with a select group of contractors to get them built. Our garden design, renovation and creation services are designed to be used as much or as little as you want, to suit your budget and your project. You may use our design services across every aspect of the project or simply for ideas and advice.

Initial consultation

The consultation will take approximately 2 hours. We will discuss your requirements, garden design options, recommendations of a way forward and associated costs. This will all be confirmed by a follow up email. Any sketches or other material produced during this visit will be used in the design process. A charge is made for this initial visit. Concept plans

Following on from the consultation, we start to develop the outline garden design. We will take digital photographs of the garden to use as the basis for the garden design, either during the initial consultation, or at a follow up meeting. Your garden will need to be surveyed, for some projects precision is vital, for others, less so. On larger, complex site, we will use a surveyor. All other sites, we will do the survey ourselves. Sometimes we use OS maps as the basis of our drawings. We will advise on what is suitable for your project. Once the surveys are done, concept drawings for your garden are created, to demonstrate garden design ideas. These are reviewed with you, and any amendments that you would like to see are incorporated. These sketch drawings can be used in early discussions with planners, neighbours and builders. All our drawings are done in CAD.

Final plans

A final layout plan for your new garden is drawn up. Complex project require a great deal of drawing detail, whereas simple garden projects need less. Inspired Gardens can also assist in any planning consent applications required.

Specifications Construction drawings Planting plans 3-D's

Construction drawings may need to be produced for any structures such as walls, steps, etc. A lighting design may be required. A planting plan can be created showing chosen plants and locations if required. The more drawings and detail you have defined, the more control you have over your project. We will advise on the level of detail required for your project.

Tendering Quotes

A full build specification will be written, if the project is going out to tender, detailing the materials which will be used to build the garden, and how the garden will be built. Quotes for building the garden can be obtained from landscapers and any specialist contractors if required.

Landscaping and Planting Project monitoring

Inspired gardens can help you as much as you want throughout the whole process from concept to finished garden. The new plants are planted, according to the agreed planting plan, which brings the garden to life.

Maintenance and health checks

Enjoy your new garden! A garden maintenance programme can be drawn up, so that you can continue to keep your garden beautiful.

Garden advice and coaching

If you are happy doing your own garden, but you need some hands on advice, give me a call. You may be unsure how and when to prune certain shrubs, or not sure what some of them are called. The plants in the shady part of your garden might be looking a big worse for wear, and you are not sure what to do with them. You might have some gap in your planting which need some creative suggestions. Or you might just want a bit of inspiration and some ideas about how to improve the structure of your garden.

Garden design by post

The garden design by post service is available to clients who reside beyond our service area, or even for clients who require a cost effective DIY approach to creating a new garden. Planting service Garden overhaul and revitalise

There is no really no such thing as a no-maintenance garden and even low-maintenance garden's do need some attention. Having spent a long day at work and with busy lifestyles, it is not always possible to get to grips with the garden at the weekend. As a result, the garden can get very soon become overgrown and often it is difficult to know where to start to bring it back under control.

This is where our "revitalise" service comes in - if your garden looks like a jungle but shouldn't, if your garden has exploded into growth and needs reining back, or just through lack of time the plants have expanded beyond their allotted space and you are feeling hemmed in - or if your garden is looking tired and colourless, your borders needs cheering up a little; we can bring it back to where it should be: contained, manageable, colourful and above all enjoyable.

Garden gift vouchers can be purchased as a gift. Please email me info@catherineclancy.com or phone 07879661923 to order a personalised gift voucher. I will need the recipients name, the special occasion (Birthday, Anniversary, etc) and your name and phone number. Payments by cheque or bank transfer. The voucher are usually for a specified number of consultation/design hours , but could also be for a £value if you prefer. Vouchers will be emailed or posted on receipt of payment.
