Garden Design and Build Services

We have a flexible approach to our work but these are typical steps in the process of garden renovation or creation.

Contact us
We will either send you a questionnaire to complete, or just run through your requirements briefly on the phone. This is just to get some details about the size and existing features in your garden; your aspirations for your new garden and your budget. Costs for the design and any potential build work will be discussed with you at this stage, payments are broken down by the stages outlined below.

Initial meeting
We will visit you, to discuss your requirements in further detail and to evaluate your current situation. You may want to recover your garden from an overgrown position, perhaps after moving house, or fully redesign. Maybe just a new border is required, or a new garden feature. We will take digital photographs of the garden to use as the basis for a new design, and also do the initial survey. After this meeting, we will write to you, with a quote for producing the design, and outline costs for work involved in creating your new garden. We will give advice on how best to get what you want from your garden in the most cost-effective way. On acceptance, a detailed survey is scheduled, if required, and the design process beings. On larger, complex site, we will use a surveyor. All other sites, we will do the survey ourselves.

Present our initial ideas and discuss
We visit you and present a concept design for the garden, which will demonstrate our ideas. We will discuss the inital draft with a view to making any amendments that you would like to see incorporated.

Design and Planting Plan Mood Board

Detailed survey and design
A plan for your new garden layout is drawn up based on the detailed survey. Also a planting plan will be created showing the chosen plants and locations. Estimates of costs are obtained from any specialist contractors, and the overall build cost will be calculated. We present these detailed design to you, and incorporate any changes required.

Build the new garden
The final design, building and planting arrangements are agreed, start dates are arranged and terms and conditions signed. We use tried and tested, local contractors for hard surfacing, fencing, heavy clearance work and other services. Building of the garden can be managed by us if required. Finally, the new plants are planted, usually laid out by myself. Gardens can be transformed in weeks, or over a period of time, as your budget dictates.

Enjoy the garden!
You enjoy your new garden! A garden maintenance programme can be drawn up, so that you can continue to keep your garden beautiful.
